Budget Christmas Crescent Trees (Print View)

01 - 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough

→ Filling

02 - 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
03 - 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
04 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
05 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
06 - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or 2 teaspoons dried parsley
07 - 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
08 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
09 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

10 - 16 grape or small cherry tomatoes
11 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

# Directions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, Italian herbs, salt, and black pepper.
03 - Unroll crescent dough and separate into individual triangles.
04 - Brush each triangle lightly with the butter-herb mixture, then evenly sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan over each piece.
05 - Starting from the wide end, roll up each triangle to form crescent shapes.
06 - Arrange the crescent rolls on the prepared baking sheet to form a Christmas tree shape by placing one roll at the top, increasing by one roll per row down to five rolls at the base, and position remaining rolls as the trunk beneath.
07 - Bake in preheated oven for 13 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
08 - Remove from oven and while still warm, brush the crescents with any remaining butter-herb mixture.
09 - Garnish with grape tomatoes to resemble ornaments and sprinkle additional parsley on top if desired.
10 - Serve warm for best flavor and texture.
